Center will provide peer recovery support and other addiction training and support services

Jaffrey, New Hampshire, December 13, 2018 – As part of its ongoing effort to fight the opioid epidemic in New Hampshire, the Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative of New Hampshire (RALI NH) granted $30,000 to Reality Check, a Jaffrey-based non-profit offering comprehensive addiction services and holistic education to combat drug and alcohol abuse, to help fund its new Recovery Community Center allowing for expanded addiction services.   The grant, coupled with another $20,000 donation from Bob Sourek and Luann Lafreniere allowed Reality Check to move into its new center located at 17 Turnpike Road in Jaffrey.

“We are incredibly grateful to RALI New Hampshire and our other generous donors who helped make our new community recovery center a reality,” said Mary Drew, Founder of Reality Check.  “Because of their leadership we will be able to provide exemplary addiction services and help save lives.”

Reality Check was founded in 2009 as a way to help people and communities impacted by alcohol and drug addiction.  The recovery center will serve residents of Southcentral New Hampshire including most of Cheshire and Western Hillsborough Counties.   The center will provide recovery coaching; training and workshops; support meetings; remote telephone support; health insurance assistance; treatment assistance; workforce development and other services.

“Reality Check has done tremendous work helping to combat the opioid crisis and other addictions,’ said New Hampshire Drug Czar David Mara.  “They have made a big difference in people’s lives through their services and their new recovery center made possible by the support of RALI New Hampshire and others will undoubtedly help countless more people who struggle with addiction.”

RALI NH was formed in the spring of 2018 to bring together leaders in the state to find solutions to help end New Hampshire’s opioid crisis.  RALI NH’s website, www.ralinh.org, serves as the hub of information about the organization’s efforts. The alliance aims to bring together leaders to highlight programs that save lives, mobilize stakeholders, partner with policymakers and share ideas to effectively address the crisis.

“Reality Check will now be able to offer more solutions to the community in battling addiction,’ said state senator Jeanne Dietsch. “The center will allow them to expand their comprehensive services including prevention plan development; access to treatment; recovery support services; and holistic education.”
